Mental Health Program Coordinator

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Under limited to broad supervision, manages, coordinates, and directs the clinical
and/or social services activities of the Health, Empowerment, Linkages, Possibilities
Mental Health Court Program. Provides counseling/therapy to participants requiring
complex intervention, including those who are homicidal, suicidal, or exhibit life-
threatening behaviors; determines the necessity for involuntary commitment; may execute
orders of involuntary commitment; provides clinical training to professional social
services staff; performs assessments for court depositions, legal proceedings, and
eligibility determinations. Directly and indirectly, supervises a moderate-sized staff of
social service professionals and para-professionals in the diagnoses, evaluation, and
treatment of emotional, cognitive, developmental, behavioral and interpersonal
disorders, illnesses, and disabilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education requirements include a Bachelors Degree in Social Work or related field.
Must be familiar with HIPAA and Federal Confidentiality Rule 42CFR regulations
Experiential requirements include a minimum of five years of social work and/or mental health treatment experience
Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist is required
Recordkeeping skills including participant records, mileage logs, and proficiency with excel including spreadsheet creation and maintenance
Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills.
Must be detail-oriented and work well under pressure.
Experience in working with the criminal justice population, counseling/case management preferred
Incumbent must be able to work in a fast-paced environment of the courts under limited supervision
Available to serve the entire Judicial Circuit. (Lumpkin, Towns, Union, and White Counties.)
